write up a song i can read in a book
too eggs on a timer with no one around
two legs in the ground, don’t call me a liar
if i seem a little down
can never give back all the things that i took
If I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look
(And) if I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look

give back the allowance you knew wasn’t yours
get down on all fours, back to the present tense
we’ll swim until we drown
don’t call me a liar when i’m really a crook
If I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look
(And) if I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look

golden memories of green leaves on the trees
and the sounds of the kitchen clanking in time
to the beat of the morning, to its very own rhyme

tell me a fable make sure it ends nice
with sagely advice and sing of no labels
they all make the same mistakes
writing up songs i can read in a book
If I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look
(And) if I ever have the need for something beautiful, I’ll know where to look
